Growing families; nurturing together.

A conference showcasing the results of the projects within Snowdrop Doula CIC and discussions around how to work together to better support.

Growing families; nurturing together.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic this will now be held virtually

Set up in 2011, Snowdrop Doula Community Interest Company have been working with families ever since.

This conference will showcase our work with families, detailing what a Doula does and our outcomes

An opportunity to share best practice between professionals and families.

Speakers include Rineke Schram from Birthrights and poetry live from Hollie McNish

Unique in the UK, we pay our accredited and CACHE endorsed Doulas to support women for free, with funding from The National Lottery Community Fund and other funders. The organisation also provides various groups with support from Social prescribing, Counselling, baby goods bank and now “The Doula Place” incorporating “Doula Cafes“ in areas plus other support. We also have opportunities for branches.

Family support – this conference will be helping to inform better practice for supporting families. Looking at how early intervention can better support families.

Perinatal mental health – this is an important issue for families and professionals. Snowdrop Doula exists due to the founders own struggles.

Complex needs – families have many complex needs. Do we make judgements? Should we make judgements? Does complex trauma impact on families and professionals? What about the dynamics between families and professionals?

Working together – families can come across many different services throughout their pregnancy and after birth. How can services work together? Do services work together and understand each role?
